- 1 cup dried elderberries
- 4 cups water
- 1- inch piece of fresh ginger sliced
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 cup honey
- 1 cup brandy optional; for longer storage
In a pot, combine elderberries, ginger slices, a cinnamon stick, and water.
Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 30 minutes.
Strain the mixture, discarding the solids.
While the liquid is still warm, stir in the honey.
If desired, add brandy.
Store in a sanitized bottle and take 1-2 tablespoons daily for health.
